Emerald Rasboras, also called Micro-Tigers, are stunning nano fish.  Once they are confident in their space, they show brilliant stripes of green-blue and white with spots of bright orange on their fins. These special fish are found in only one lake in the whole world (Lake Inle.) Lake Isle is a shallow lake and Emeralds are found on the outer edge amongst all the plants.  While these fish form groups, they are not a true community fish.  They do well in heavily planted tanks and will be more interactive when they feel secure. These active, rarer nano fish will make a great addition to any tank.

Hailing from a single lake in Myanmar, these fish are used to heavily planted, moderately covered, shallow water with lots of hiding places from predators. Feeding and Diet

Emerald Rasboras are a small fish with tiny mouths. They need small food: finely crushed flakes, micro pellet food or baby brine fish. Also, watch out for more aggressive fish who will beat these non-competitive food.

Tankmates and Compatibility

As a nano fish, Emerald Rasboras will thrive in a tank of like size fish. These fish are also a non-aggressive breed, so they will thrive in a tank of other peaceful fish.
Shrimp Compatibility

Emerald Rasboras are a friend to shrimp of all kinds. As they are a peaceful, small fish, even shrimp fry are safe with these nano-fish.
Aquascaping

As Emerald Rasboras come from the shallow edges of a lake, they are used to heavy plants. They also appreciate rocks and places to hide from predators.
