Amano Shrimp

Amano Shrimp are a hardworking tank cleaner.  Hailing originally from the swamps of Japan, Taiwan and Fiji, these shrimp are needed in most tanks.  They are ravenous for tank debris to include fish poop, uneaten food, decaying plants or algae. All these benefits for helping keep a clean tank, and yet these shrimp have zero effect on the nitrate level of a tank no matter how many you have in your tank. These peaceful shrimp are big enough to survive a tank with most fish without becoming a snack. 

SIZE:

• Average adult size: 2 - 3 inch (5 - 7.5 cm)
• Typical purchase size: .5 - 1.25 inch (1.2 - 3rds .2 cm)

RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: 

• Temperature: 60° to 80° F (16 - 27 C)
• pH: 6.0 - 7.0 
• KH: 3 - 10 dKH
• Minimum tank size: 10 Gallons
