Otocinclus

Otocinclus, also called Otos, are miniature catfish.  These sensitive, bottom dwellers are great cleaners of soft algae on smooth services. Naturally found in the slow river basins of South America, these cleaners are used to schools of their kind swimming around the plants, leaf litter and driftwood provided in these rivers.  The benefit of the Otos vs your common pleco is that Otos don't get bigger than 2 inches, making them perfect for smaller tanks.  Additionally, Otos are peaceful tank makes to shrimp and newborn shrimplets.

SIZE:

• Average adult size: 1.5 - 2.0 inch (4 - 5 cm)
• Typical purchase size: 1 - 1.5 inch (1.9 - 2.5 cm)

RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: 

• Temperature: 70° to 78° F (21 - 26 C)
• pH: 6.8 - 7.5 
• KH: 2 - 10 dKH
• Minimum tank size: 10 Gallons
